Greetings All

Greetings in the Bonding name of Jesus Christ,
Today I get to attend a wedding! I love weddings. I love seeing the couple commit themselves to each other. I love the trust that they have in their eyes, trust that they will be husband and wife for their lifetimes, however long that may be. I also love the music, and the food! The bible says that the very first miracle, performed by Jesus, occurred at a wedding! The wedding couple had run out of wine, so Mary asked Jesus to "make" some more! He does, revealing his glory (Jn 2:11), and from then on his disciples put their faith in Him. Jesus is still attending weddings, and still providing wedding miracles!

John 2:3-10,
2:3 "When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."

2:4 "Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come."

2:5 His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."

2:6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.

2:7 Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.

2:8 Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so,

2:9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside

2:10 and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."

Many books can be read at your leisure. Books to thrill you, to make you sad, books to give you suspense, and to tell it like it is. There are books of adventure, and books of love, books of history, and books of truth. You can read about conspiracy and lies, wisdom and angst, life lessons and disappointment. I have a surprise for you! All of these books are in one book! Get your hands on a Holy Bible TODAY, and read like you've never read before! There is so much to learn, and it is all true!
John 17:17 says, "Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth."

Greetings in the All-Knowing Name of Jesus Christ,
Recently a young man in our worship group posed a question, a profound question. He asked, "Suppose two people were to swap souls. What difference would it make?" (I think I got that right, I hope I got that right.) This question deserves deep consideration. This young man further asked, "Would swapping souls alter the person?"
and, "Does love come from the soul or the brain?" Naturally we, as a group, tried to ponder these queries aloud, only to determine that it would not be possible to come to any conclusions without some study! Thank you, Tommy, for the challenge! As for you readers, game on! I believe you can leave comments on this blog.

Greetings in the Outstanding Name of Jesus Christ,
The weather is finally warming up, the birds are operatic, grass is standing tall, trees are getting dressed for the season, and new life is abundant! It is a complete cycle of life, and death, and life. It is the way God intended. He intended the cycle for all living things, including humans. For us, life is an opportunity to serve God, and to marvel at His creations. But death also brings life, eternal in heaven with our creator! This, too, is what He intended. We need to make sure we tell this news to those who don't know it! We need to show them the way to find new life so that their cycle will be complete.
John 5:24 says, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."

Greetings in the Stable Name of Jesus Christ,

Have you considered house construction? Step 1 is a solid foundation, then, a frame is erected to support both the roof and the walls (the house). Following that, drywall, paint and trim finishes up the job! Then, invite others to see your house! If properly cared for, the house will stand the test of time, lasting for hundreds of years in some cases. There are houses that were built in the 1700’s that still stand today! Now consider this; you are a house of God, built to serve Him. The first step is a solid foundation; the word of God, the Holy Bible. Set your house on that foundation, and it will not fall. The second step is framing; build your relationship with Jesus Christ. Learn his teachings to support your house! The third step; drywall, paint, and trim; make your house visibly attractive so others see it. The fourth step; Serve God; share your building plans with others, so they can build their own house! Remember to thank the Master Builder!
Joshua 24:15 says, "But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

Greetings in the Highest Name of Jesus Christ!
Today is a very special day. Today we get to honor the one person that may have been the most important influence on our young lives! Of course, I am speaking of our God given mothers! Did you know that you have the mother God meant for you to have? We are not born into our family just by chance, it is a God directed birth! There is something else God directed; honor thy mother and father. It is not a choice, but a directive that, when performed, honors not only your parents, but God also! Remember your mother on this Mother's Day, and honor her!
Deuteronomy 5:16 says, "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you."

Greetings in the Renewing name of Jesus Christ!
Tomorrow is the most important on the believer's calendar, Easter. If Easter events had not taken place, if Christ had not risen from that tomb, all would be for naught! There would be no reason for worship, or hymns, or fellowship. Remember the 'third day', and the importance of it! Christ is not in the tomb, but He is risen!
Two faithful servants went to His tomb that morning, only to find it open. they encountered two 'men'..
Luke 24:5 says, "In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead?"

Greetings in the Calming Name of Jesus Christ!
We are human, and as such, we get angry at times. It happens to everyone, you are not alone. It is important to know what to do with that anger though. Some folks just blow their tops, some keep it all inside until it makes then ill, and some react a different way every time. If you find yourself in the angry boat, pray! It is the first and best thing to do. God know what anger is, and he knows what will calm you, but you can't get the calming of God without asking for it! Someone wise once said, "Don't sweat the small stuff, and it's ALL small stuff!"
Psalm 4:4 says, "In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah"

Greetings in the Simplifying Name of Jesus Christ!
The other day I was looking for some paperwork I knew I had kept, but could not remember where. As I looked through the clutter of my room, the experience brought a thought to mind. How many of us out there have lives so cluttered we can't find time for Christ? Keeping an organized life is something we need to work on to make sure we consistently have time for God each day. Discipline yourself to make it the same time each day, and soon you'll have a habit! Discipline develops consistency, consistency develops habit, and habit by nature is easy!
Luke 9:23 says, "Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."

Greetings in the Dependable Name of Jesus Christ!
During World War 2, an American soldier was caught behind enemy lines on an island near Japan. He had been evading capture in the jungle, but enemy troops were closing in. He found a cave and hid inside, but the cave was not very deep and he was afraid he would be discovered; that would mean certain death. As he hid in the cave he could hear the enemy soldiers closing in, they were doing a sweep of every crevace. As he waited, barely breathing, he prayed. As he was praying, he noticed a spider had begun spinning a web at the entrance to the cave. Within minutes the spider had spun a web which covered the opening. Japanese soldiers were passing and saw that the web was unbroken, thus, they believed no one could be inside and passed the cave by. The American soldier was saved by a spider, and the Grace of God! When you are alone and in peril, depend on the only one who can help you, God!
Psalms 62:7 says, "My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge."

Greetings in the Comforting Name of Jesus Christ,

I am asking for your prayers for the Hogan family of Lisbon, Maine. There was a fire at their house yesterday and two of their children, Nathalie (11) and Kelsey (6), perished. I can not imagine the grief.

Precious Father, please give this family the peace of knowing that these two little ones are now with you in heaven. Give them the strength they will need to accept this tragedy, and to help their remaining children survive this awful event. Amen.

May God Richly Bless You All, My Beloved.

Greetings in the Refreshining name of Jesus Christ!
It's snowing here in Southern Maine, again! About this time of year we are ready to see the end of snow, but snow makes a point! Snow covers all imperfections otherwise noticable. Instead of looking at unkept roads, or brown grass, or the odd bit of trash strewn about, we see fresh, clean, neat snow. Jesus made us a promise, one that refers to snow! He told us if we accept His gift of salvation we shall be made white as snow! Our sins would no longer be seen by God! I don't know about you, but this is definitely something I want for me! I want it for you too!
Pray with me;
"Lord, I am a sinner. Your word says if I accept you as my savior, I shall be made white as snow! Forgive me Lord for my sins. Thank you for taking my place on the cross! I ask you to dwell within my heart Lord. Amen." If you prayed this, welcome to the family of Christ! Know that you are forgiven, and your sins are covered! Jesus is faithful in His promise!
Isaiah 1:18 says, "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."

Greetings in the Completely Loving Name of Jesus Christ!
Do you love? How do you know? There is a story of a man, a murderer, on death row. His mother visited him on the day before he was to be executed. After her visit, she spoke with the warden about her son.
The next morning the guards and the warden came to lead the condemned man to the death chamber. As they walked, the warden explained that the man's mother had asked to be put to death in her son's place. The warden agreed. The condemned man was led to the front gate and set free as he wept at his mother's loving sacrifice. This is just a story, not really true as there is no provision to take the place of anyone on death row, but there is one TRUE story where this did happen! God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross, in our place, for our condemned souls! This is a TRUE story; and you can read about it in the book of John!
John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Try reading it this way, "For God so loved (your name) that He gave His only begotten son, that if (your name) believeth in Him (your name) should not parish, but have everlasting life."

Greetings in the Restful Name of Jesus Christ!
7 days ago Tina and I left to visit her family in Malaysia on Borneo. We are here now! It is an arduous journey, taking nearly 2 full days to get here! But once we are here the worries of the world start to fall away, rather quickly. It wasn't long before I reached 'rest central'! Rest is important to humans so we can recharge ourselves and be more productive servants. Have you ever tried to be effective after 24 hours awake? It's hard! God knows how important rest is; He himself rested after creating everything. Work when you should, rest when you should; it is a cycle of which God approves!
Genesis 2:2-3 says, "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
(3)And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Greetings in the Comforting Name of Jesus Christ!
Challenges, we all have them, some of us more often than others. There are probably times you are tempted to just give up and give in, but instead, let's be thankful for those challenges! What?! Yup, that's what I said; thankful! Let me tell you why. God knows exactly what we are able to handle in our lives. The challenges we face in our lives, if we are true believers, are a way to know that God has faith in us! Believe it? Well, consider Job! That's what God said to satan when satan said Job would fold under pressure, "Consider my servant Job". God showed great faith in Job because Job showed great faith in God! As you know, satan laid it on Job hard, and Job never faltered! Job knew God was there with him, no matter what the challenge!
1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

Greetings in the Compassionate Name of Jesus Christ!
Do you remember the story of the good samaritan? Let me refresh your memory. A man had been traveling the road from Jeruselem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of theives. They beat him, stripped him of possessions and clothing, then left him for dead on the side of the road. A priest came by, and passed the man by going to the other side of the road. This priest may have been on the way to the temple, and to have touched the beaten man would have made the priest unclean. Likewise, a Levite passed him by.
Then a Samaritan came upon him. The Samaritan had comapssion on the wounded man, put oil on his wounds, bandaged him, and took him to an inn, promising the keeper to pay for the man's expences. As a result, we now have many "Good Samaritan" references. The question is, how often do we seize given oppotunities to be good samaritans? They occur, but perhaps we don't 'see' them, just like the priest and the Levite didn't 'see' the wounded man. Believers, this is commanded by God; "Love one another even as I have loved you."
Luke 10:27, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself."

Greetings in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ!
Do you have a servants heart? There is a story about a Christian man of some prominence who would, each weekend, dress in raggedy clothes and head into the homeless district to help feed and care for those who were in need. No one knew his true identity until he died and his secret was discovered. The man was not interested in recognition of any sort, he simply worked for Christ. I have heard that the way you can tell weather you have a servants heart or not is measured by how you feel when you are treated like a servant! Perhaps the greatest example of servanthood was when when Christ himself washed the dirty feet of His disciples. Imagine, kneeling in front of all those men and, one by one, cleaning feet that have spent the day walking on dirty, dusty roads! Awesome!
Matthew 25:21 says, "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'"

Greetings in the Perfect Name of Jesus Christ!
Are you bad? Do you think you're so bad that no one really loves you? Do you think your so bad that even God himself doesn't love you? Well, you're wrong about that! The fact is, Jesus was sent to us by God because he loves us even though we are bad. A good follower of Christ will tell you this, a great follower of Christ will tell you this AND admit he is also bad!
We must remember that we are no better than those with whom we are sharing God's word, and admitting that will keep us humble before God and man. Nobody likes to admit their shortcomings, but if we are to reach the unsaved, we must let them know we are like them, and still we are saved by the perfect love of God!
Romans 5:8 says, "But God commandeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!

Greetings in the Renewing Name of Jesus Christ,
Well, here we are, eight days into the new year. For some, the brand new sheen of 2011 has already worn off with the return to the same life we had in 2010! It might be your job, it might be the collection agencies, it might be your home life, but whatever it is, God has got your back! We may not like the trials we go through - it may seem as though we go through nothing but trials - but it is important tempering. We need to realize that in those trials God is working to make us better believers. I learned long ago about the 'Three T's' - Trials Teaches Trust! So says Proverbs 3:5,6 -
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."
