Greetings in the Compassionate Name of Jesus Christ!
Do you remember the story of the good samaritan? Let me refresh your memory. A man had been traveling the road from Jeruselem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of theives. They beat him, stripped him of possessions and clothing, then left him for dead on the side of the road. A priest came by, and passed the man by going to the other side of the road. This priest may have been on the way to the temple, and to have touched the beaten man would have made the priest unclean. Likewise, a Levite passed him by.
Then a Samaritan came upon him. The Samaritan had comapssion on the wounded man, put oil on his wounds, bandaged him, and took him to an inn, promising the keeper to pay for the man's expences. As a result, we now have many "Good Samaritan" references. The question is, how often do we seize given oppotunities to be good samaritans? They occur, but perhaps we don't 'see' them, just like the priest and the Levite didn't 'see' the wounded man. Believers, this is commanded by God; "Love one another even as I have loved you."
Luke 10:27, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself."

Greetings in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ!
Do you have a servants heart? There is a story about a Christian man of some prominence who would, each weekend, dress in raggedy clothes and head into the homeless district to help feed and care for those who were in need. No one knew his true identity until he died and his secret was discovered. The man was not interested in recognition of any sort, he simply worked for Christ. I have heard that the way you can tell weather you have a servants heart or not is measured by how you feel when you are treated like a servant! Perhaps the greatest example of servanthood was when when Christ himself washed the dirty feet of His disciples. Imagine, kneeling in front of all those men and, one by one, cleaning feet that have spent the day walking on dirty, dusty roads! Awesome!
Matthew 25:21 says, "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'"

Greetings All
Greetings in the Perfect Name of Jesus Christ!
Are you bad? Do you think you're so bad that no one really loves you? Do you think your so bad that even God himself doesn't love you? Well, you're wrong about that! The fact is, Jesus was sent to us by God because he loves us even though we are bad. A good follower of Christ will tell you this, a great follower of Christ will tell you this AND admit he is also bad!
We must remember that we are no better than those with whom we are sharing God's word, and admitting that will keep us humble before God and man. Nobody likes to admit their shortcomings, but if we are to reach the unsaved, we must let them know we are like them, and still we are saved by the perfect love of God!
Romans 5:8 says, "But God commandeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!

Greetings All
Greetings in the Renewing Name of Jesus Christ,
Well, here we are, eight days into the new year. For some, the brand new sheen of 2011 has already worn off with the return to the same life we had in 2010! It might be your job, it might be the collection agencies, it might be your home life, but whatever it is, God has got your back! We may not like the trials we go through - it may seem as though we go through nothing but trials - but it is important tempering. We need to realize that in those trials God is working to make us better believers. I learned long ago about the 'Three T's' - Trials Teaches Trust! So says Proverbs 3:5,6 -
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."
